Dubai best cycling routes - family friendly edition

Cycling around Dubai on your bicycle is such a lovely family activity and allows the kids to experience Dubai in a different way. Dubai is rapidly increasing its cycling routes and we love it! It has become very bike friendly in areas such as the marina, internet city, Barsha heights and so many more areas.

In this blog we are going to highlight a few of the nicest cycling routes to do on your bicycle in Dubai with children.

Nad Al Sheba cycle park

This cycling park used to be a camel track and was converted into a cycling trail with 4km, 6km and 8km loops. You can enjoy breathtaking views of the Burj Khalifa and downtown’s skyscrapers. There is also a separate cycling path for children to ride their bike. There are lights throughout the whole cycling track in case you want to go cycling in the afternoon and there are many road signs and speed bumps, making it one of the safest bicycle tracks in Dubai.

This cycling route is also equipped with necessary facilities such as restrooms, air conditioned changing rooms, showers and it’s open 24h a day.

You can even find little grass fields where you can enjoy a lovely picnic with your family after cycling. Our baskets are perfect to carry along all the necessities you want to bring for a picnic.

Dubai Autodrome

On Wednesday afternoons between 6pm and 9pm, the Dubai Autodrome, which was completed in 2004, opens up for cyclists, rather than holding sports car races. The track is open to children and only 2.5km long, meaning it’s a perfect distance as you can decide yourself how many laps you would want to cycle. It’s also the perfect place for children to learn how to ride their bicycle, due to the safe environment, as there is no traffic, and all the necessary facilities are at the Autodrome.

Jumeirah cycling track

This newly opened cycling track is 16km long and connects tracks of Jumeirah Street near Dubai Water Canal with the track at King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street near Dubai Internet City. Along the track you can find several hotspots that are perfect to bring your children along to. You may visit the Sunset Mall near Kite Surf Beach, Burj Al Arab and much more. There are sufficient facilities along the way such as restrooms, restaurants and airconditioned locations. It's perfect to take your kids on a nice day out.

Al Barsha pond park

This park is the ultimate place to enjoy a fun day with your children. There is a multi-purpose sports field as well as tennis, volleyball and basketball courts. There is also a mini-pitch for football. You can rent bicycles there, pedal or solar powered boats for the lake until 10PM and there is a playground with swings and slides. There are cafeterias and small kiosks where you can buy drinks or opt for a delicious lunch or dinner. The Barsha pond park is the perfect location for your kids to learn how to cycle in a safe environment as there are no cars. There is a parking lot where you could park your vehicle completely for free.
